Awards and Achievements

• Eight Pope Orchestra musicians selected for the 2009 GMEA District 12 Honor Orchestra.

• Eight Pope Orchestra musicians selected for the 2008 GMEA All-State Orchestra.

• Nine Pope Orchestra musicians selected for the 2008 GMEA District 12 Honor Orchestra.

• Representing the Southeast, Pope High School Orchestra was one of only four schools nationwide selected for the inaugural year of Orchestra America National Festival.

• Each year Pope High School has about ten musicians selected from Orchestra to participate in Georgia All-State Orchestra. Pope averages about 12 orchestra members every year that participate in the Georgia Honors Orchestra.

• Pope High School Orchestra has performed at Brooklyn College under the baton of Ken Seldon. The Orchestra has also worked with other conductors from across the nation such as Lerry Livingston of the University of Southern Carolina, Richard Auldon Clark of Butler University, Frans Anton Krager of the Moores School of Music, and Anthony Maiello of George Mason University.

• Pope Orchestra has consistently received superior ratings when performing at the Georgia Music Educators Association Music Festival Evaluations.

• The Orchestra has traveled to many locations on both team building trips and musical performances.
